Amy Advocat

Hailed as 'dazzling' by the Boston Globe, Dr. Amy Advocat is clarinet/bass clarinetist with Boston Modern Orchestra (named 2016 Ensemble of the Year by Musical America), with whom she has performed recorded and premiered numerous new works. Highly sought after for her unique performance style, she has performed with Emmanuel Music, Boston Pops, Odyssey Opera, Harrisburg Symphony, Guerilla Opera, Collage New Music, Sound Icon, Firebird Ensemble, Callithumpian Consort, Dinosaur Annex. Monadnock Music, and the New Hampshire Music Festival. As a soloist, she has performed with BMOP, ALEA III, Society of Composers, Inc, American Composers Alliance, and the New Gallery Concert Series. Dr. Advocat is the Executive Director of the bass clarinet and marimba duo Transient Canvas, with whom she has commissioned and premiered nearly 70 works since 2011.
